Many financial publications, such as the Wall Street Journal, Money, Smart Money and Kiplinger’s, regularly review mutual funds. So do many Web sites.

The best site for mutual funds is www.morningstar.com. It rates many funds that are at least three years old using a star system. The best funds get five stars, the worst get one. While it has much free content, its reviews are only available with a paid subscription.
